For sale section, below in the market place.

WTB Ad would be your safest bet, since you'll list pertinent information such as reticle style, budget, tube size, brand, magnification, etc.

    Also, put your location.

You and I are pretty local one can say; we're both on Earth right?...

No kidding... No detail on type of scope and no location for local only requirement...

Even n the correct forum section, it would be wrong.

            Sorry Long Beach, Lakewood area.

Kinda new to the scope thing. What is good for a 556 bolt action. I dont want to spend a lot, just good enough for 400 or maybe 800 yards. Minimal cost to hold a good zero.

I can help a brother out, don't worry about the other responses. They love to give people a hard time, including me. You can laugh the internet ninjas off.

Running a 5.56 bolt, nice! Check out the Sig line. Then send me a PM. If I don't respond you can email me, check your PM. I don't hook the other guys above up with some wholesale prices.

Let me know if you like any of those, or if you want to take that thing to distance and want a nice piece of glass I can get you Steiner, then you can run that on other rigs.

Look into a SFP Christmas tree scope. At 800 yards, your 556 will be dropping so much that a FFP will run out of reticle when zoomed in. Or, you could just get something with a lot of internal adjustment if you're a dialer.

                  Sightron SIII 8-32 or 10-50 MOA-H

It really depends on your budget and whether you're a holder or dialer.

That's a great deal for a nice scope. OP, IMHO, this Weaver would be a good place to start while learning about scopes.

I think I could have probably hit targets at 100 yards with a red dot 40 years ago, if red dots had been around then. I believe there is a difference between hitting a steel plate and hitting within an inch or two of where you are aiming at 100 yards, this is if you are hunting. 400 yards is pretty far out and for the people I know it takes a fairly good scope to reach out that far.

If you aren’t hunting though and just want to ring steel then maybe something pretty inexpensive would do.
