    Trijicon Warranty Service

Has anyone else had issues with Trijicon's warranty service? (I did a search on this and didn't see any other threads)

I purchased a Glock about 10 years ago with factory installed Trijicon sights. The sights no longer illuminate at all when I check them myself in a dark room. (I've asked many other people who all say they don't see any illumination) I sent the slide back and they told me that even though it is a 12 year warranty, that my sights illuminate as expected and I would need to pay for a replacement set with a new 12 year warrant, which I ended up doing.

I completely understand they won't shine as bright after year 10 as they would brand new, but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I've been told going forward Meprolight is the way to go, better sights and much better customer service.

I've only heard (and experienced) great customer service with Trijicon.

I have several Acogs on multiple rifles; one of those Acogs was many years old and it's one I bought on ebay for pretty cheap. I remember Trijicon helping to confirm the date of manufacture (and if it was real or not) when I called over with a serial number. Well, I sent it to Trijicon to pay the $250 or whatever it is they charge for new tritium and they ended up doing it for free.

Tritium doesn't last forever and over time, will become so dim you can't see its glow anymore.

I've used Trijicon warranty service from a 3rd or 4th hand purchased product. Dimming tritium illumination was the issue. They clearly state that they are under no obligation to repair products after a certain amount of time. But even in spite of being nowhere close to the original purchaser, they opted to replace the tritium and entire internal prism system for free! That is amazing to me and shows that they will go above and beyond what their stated obligations are to make a customer happy.

I cannot guarantee they will do this for you, as Tritium absolutely does wear out over time. But I believe that they want to please the customer, so you might as well give them a try.

      Best of luck!

For a pistol, I’ll ask how often have you needed the illumination?

I have an acog that has died and needs to go back. For my Glocks and Glow watches, I’ll let them fade. No need to replace the vials in them.

It’s a radioactive element. The half life is known. Unless the glass vial breaks, the half life is the same for every tritium vial Made.

I won an AccuPoint 3-9x40 the summer of 2015 in a daily drawing Optics Planet had. It took 90 days to receive the scope and when I did there was zero illumination. Called Optics Planet and they said too bad, it’s a warranty issue, contact Trijicon. Contacted Trijicon, they asked for serial number and then they told me the scope was so old it was out of warranty. I could get the scope recharged but the price was pretty hefty, I don’t remember how much. I declined the offer, called Optics Planet back was told too bad.

My experience wouldn’t keep me from giving Trijicon another shot because I understood their point, even though a company like Leupold or Vortex probably would have made it right. Won’t buy from Optics Planet though unless they are the only company that has what I need.
