Springfield M1A Scope Mount Didn't Work

    Dang it!
I thought/assumed the Springfield scope mount would fit my 2016 Springfield Loaded M1a. I was not happy at the range yesterday, I installed a new Archangel stock that fits super tight without any modifications. I have a Vortex 6X24X50 Crossfire II. I love this scope!. Anyway, I was at 100 yards and I scattered all over a 12" diameter target.
This morning I was checking out the mount and noticed I could rock it slightly. I took it off and noticed there was a mark on the receiver that corresponded with a mark on the Springfield scope mount.
    I attached some pics.
Looks like I will go with a Sadlak or Bassett.
I tried to save some money. For my casual use I'm sure the aluminum will be fine.
You guys tried to warn me.

Did you properly smack it to form the nub to the groove on the receiver? Either way, go with the Bassett. Never hear of them failing, and you can take off and replace with less than 1 MOA zero shift.

Yeah, I have never heard a bad word about Bassett.
When mounting the Springfield there are the two index marks that are easily matched up. Unfortunately when I tighten the thumb screws it shifts somehow because every combination of tightening procedure I still get the same result, it rocks.
This is the first time I have used it, I purchased the mount almost a year ago for $104. Amazon does not give me the option to return. Dang.
I wonder If Springfield would consider help??

I'm running a Bassett on mine and have never had any issues with it coming loose.

Recycle the Springfield mount. Consider it the cost of tuition.

          Sadlak or Bassett.

Sadlak is more permanent and can be made to fit an out of spec receiver.
Bassett is quick to install and remove.
          Both get very few complaints.

            Sadlak or Bassett.

I have a Promag on mine and it's rock sold.

I had a Springfield on mine and it worked a short time then shots moved around.
I got a Sadlak and it has been good since.
Sold the old one to someone who just had to have it.

                  U won lotto.

I can’t think of a single thing I have seen from ProMag that is worth using.

I have sadlaks, but I really liked the arms 18 because it mounts so low.

Just my experience with the few things I have been unfortunate to have run across.

                        Glad it works for you.

Never had a problem with my LRB arms m14 can't say that about my Sprongfield inc. With the Sprongfield and Smith mount the mount was pointing to he right and the scope ran out of windage.

Does Sadlk still make custom fitted mount for the Sprongfield?
I've been away from the M14 for close to 15 years now
