    Holosun HS510c vs Eotech 518 (or XPS2)

    Hi folks,

(apologies if this has already been answered)

Is there a comprehensive (or not so much) comparison of Holosun HS510c vs Eotech 518 (or XPS2)?

If not, is there someone who has first-hand experience with both and could give a quick run-down as to why one is better than the other?

    Thanks!

I have shot both XPS2 and HS510C. I own an HS510C and actually shot it this morning on my AR Pistol in 300blk shooting supersonic. The Eotech is a great sight and I wouldn't consider it money wasted. The Holosun is a great value and I would consider getting a second when the need arises, as such I will have two very good sights (HS510C) for the price of one excellent sight.

I had the Eotech EXPS in the military and I currently have a Holosun 510c on my LEO patrol rifle. I have had absolutley ZERO problems with the Holosun and I may actually shoot better with it. My patrol rifle sits in the vehicle rack a majority of the time but each and every time I have taken it to the range it has performed flawless. The reticle actually appears more crisp than the eotech, i only wish it came im a lower 1/3 cowitness version.

Since 510c has an absolute co-witness, how much of its view would be obstructed by the standard A sight?

The Holosun HS510C is a reflex sight while the Eotechs are holographic sights. Personally I prefer the 510c because the reticle is more crisp and even though it has a circle dot reticle very similar to an Eotech, you can change to a couple of other reticles if you want to. Its also a lot better battery life than Eotech sights and it costs a lot less too.

I owned an XPS2 for a few years and my brother has the 510sc. I only sold the EOTech because I wanted a magnified optic instead of a red dot. I had 100% trust in the optic, and I really appreciated the large field of view during a Carbine/Pistol course I took.

I feel that if you want a red dot below $200, Holosun, Sig, Primary Arms, etc are excellent options. But by the time you get to the $300 range, it's worth it to stretch your budget or save just a little more to get get an EOTech, Aimpoint, Trijicon, etc. If I'm not going to depend on it in a life or death situation, the $100-150 red dots do the trick for me.

What are you using it for? Hone defense, both are fine. 3 gun, where it will take lots of abuse EOTECH.

I agree, for rough stuff go with Eotech.

The Eotechs have a battle proven mounting system and are enclosed unlike the HS510c which has an external emitter that can be obstructed under certain environmental conditions.

The Holosun beats the Eotech on battery life and price though.

I suggest waiting for Black Friday to get the best deal on an Eotech.
