    Question regarding rings

I'm building an AR15 in 6.5 Grendel (20" SS barrel) with a Nikon Prostaff 5 4.5-18x40 scope. Regarding rings, I have an extra pair of Nikon P Series rings and a pair of Burris Zee.

My question is due to the design of the P series rings, will that mean the scope is less prone to recoil?

The purpose of rings is to hold the scope tightly, with no movement at all. By it's very nature a good set of rings will transmit all the recoil. If you're thinking that maybe the shape acts somewhat like a spring, try bending it. It's not going to flex.

Don't make the ring screws so tight, and the scope will be less prone to recoil for maybe 5 to 10 shots. After that, the recoil will destroy the scope. I tested this theory out on my Redfield, and it works.

Those rings are meant to push your scope forward in order to achieve proper eye relief.
