    Knock off optics?

I dont know if anyone has done a thread like this ( I havent really looked). What do you guys think about the fake optic sights for Eotech and Aimpoint. Just curious on if there any good and durable compared to the real thing, there a hell of alot cheaper. Im just in the market, so wanted to know your guys opinion. Thanks

After checking both eotechs and aimpoints side by side along with their replica counterparts, I have verified that you can't beat the real thing. Basically, you get what you pay for. However, I have found that the magnifier systems for both the eotech and the aimpoints are virtually identical to the genuine article.
I was told that they are made by the same contracted manufacturer in china as the real deal. It was a vendor at the Del Mar gun show. I think it was Extreme Optics or something to that effect.

You get what you pay for - If you don't have the budget - Save and get the real/good equipment - You'll be happier in the long run -

So I should spend the money for the real optic a d maybe just buy the clone magnifier? Also where's the cheapest place to buy the eotechs, aimpoints and trijicons.

Aimpoint Clones range from $10.00 + $20.00 shipping from China, which gets you a POS that will not hold a zero to $200.00 +5.00 shipping from X. That will be a ok clone that will work for about a year or so or maybe 3000 shots before it dies. The battery power will be somewhere about 100 to 300 hours, the finish will dull quickly. A mid grade Aimpoint Clone of $100 is hit and mis. Some report good stuff lasting a year, some say it died after 1 magazine.

The EOtech clones are POS, right now. Its a 50/50 on them. I would aviod them unless you know you will never bump the sight. Real EOtechs are not even red dots so comparing them to the EOTech clone red dot is stupid. You are buying a copy that doesnt even do what the original does, sorta like buying a AR15, but no AR15 part will fit it and it doesnt shoot anything but plastic BBs. A better $100 red dot display would be something like the NCStar. But if you are looking for the EoTech look, buy the clone. It just will not last very long.

I can't afford a new EOTech right now, so I am getting a Bushnel Holosight. Same thing as an EOTech, just not up to the combat abuse. You can get one from about $150 to $200 used.

i run a facog from 1337 tactical. my personal experience is that it holds excellent. i didn't get it for the triji look, but what it offers with the bdc reticle, and iron sight on top and no illumination. the bdc isn't spot on but really close and the hash marks offer quick and easy reference. once you learn your hold overs like you would with any other scope, it just works, holds zero and no probs. i shoot paper, i shoot the plates at angeles, i shoot matches with it. it's cheap, it works well and it lets me have fun without worrying about jacking up a super expensive piece of glass haha.

the only weird thing about it is that the dials are opposite. arrow says up but actually moves down. but it's consistent with windage so it's no big deal. besides that it was 150 bucks, i can live arrows on the knobs pointing in a different direction.
