Nightforce NXS and downgrading

Hi,

Currently I have a Rem 700 with a super stupid expensive NXS 8-32x56 on the rifle which was originally meant for bench/competition shooting. I have maybe shot the gun twice in the last year. I'm thinking of downgrading the scope to something that will still hit 1000yrds but that I can also save a bunch of money.

Anyone have any thoughts and/or recommendations on a different optic?

Just a couple of ideas:

Vortex Viper PST is a nice downgrade that I use on my 20" AR out to 800 and beyond. Can easily see targets at 10x(You're probably wanting more power than that) at 1000 yards. I also have a Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 that I hit at 1200 with relative ease on a 300WM. There are some good optics out there in the $800 to $1100 range.
