AR10T Scope and Mounts? PT 2

Please help me choose a scope and mounts for my AR10T. I am leaning towards American Defense AD-Recon 1 piece rings. Should I get the standard or the extended eye relief? I like the Bushnell Elite, Millet TRS and Falcon Menace scopes. Want to do this once, and do it right. This rifle has been a safe queen for 12 years and finally got the itch to fire it.

Finally sold the Springfield Government Gen 3 scope. This is my original post http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=153631

    Rifle: Armalite AR10T
    Budget: 700
    Distance: 500yds - 800yds
    Ammo: 308 Federal Gold 168gr

Mount length will depend on how you shoot, your stock length, and your scopes' eye relief.

Best bet is to figure out where the scope eyepiece needs to be relative to the charging handle based on your shooting style, then see which mount will place it there. If you shoot anywhere near NTCH with scopes that have long eye relief, you probably need extended mounts. If you have a longer, target-style stock, and your cheekweld puts you further back from the CH, you might be good with a standard mount.

The ADM Recon series get good reviews, as do the LaRue mounts. Either one will do the job.

Do the scopes you listed have enough built in elevation to reach 800 yrds or farther? If not then you will need a mount with with a angle built in. One of the larue mounts (think the 158) has a 10 moa built in. If you don't need a quick detach mount there are other options like the badger rail and rings. Or the accuracy international 15 or 28 moa mounts. I am sure there are others out there but I am familiar with those.
I am running the AI 15 moa mount on my 10T since I don't need a QD mount.

I have not use the AD mounts yet but they look very well made.

I have been very happy with GG&G and the Best has been the Nightforce Uni-Mount.

The Bushnell may have a tuff time doing 800yds but the others should do it. I'm not a big fan of the Millet TRS nor Falcon Menace. I would recommend looking at the Leupold MK4 4.5-14x40mm w/ the MIL-Dot.
