scope for pellet gun

my son has a ruger blackhawk elite pellet gun. he is a really good shot, but recently the gun got banged on the scope(4x32,made in China) and it is not adjustable for high-low it seems anymore. Questions

1 could one shock ruin the high -low adjustment?

2 is it worth repairing?

3 suggestions for a scope , med price range, suitable for squirrel hunting out to 75 yards.

He really enjoys shooting, but this is a pain in the a.., up to 15 inches difference bench rest shooting at 35 yards.

Springers are known scope killers, so cheap scope's will die quickly also expensive scope not air gun rated will break fast, a lot of people have had good luck with UTG scopes 30 mm tube ones, they are good scopes and affordable, the next one would be a Hawke scope, fairly expensive but they are designed for Springer air guns.

I don't believe the lower priced Hawke Scopes like the Vantage Series are recommended for use on Springers.

I have a Hawke 2-7x32 AO Sport HD for my Benjamin springer. Very happy with it.

OP, spend a little more on the scope. Hawkes are great, UTG/Leapers scopes with etched glass reticles work very well (like the 3-9 Bug Buster), plus there are other companies that have very good durable scopes. Just stay away from Centerpoint, NcStar and other cheaper scopes, plus beware of ones that have rifle/AG company names (Ruger, Winchester, etc..mainly just re-branded CPs). They MAY survive on your springer, but are generally worthless because of the low glass quality.

Edit - Looked up what I Hawke scope I bought, it was a Sport HD, now discontinued, not a Vantage. OP, call Hawke and ask if the Vantage series are AG rated if you're interested in that line of scopes

The scope that came with my Gamo Big Cat had the cross hairs fall out on about the 3rd or 4th shot.
It was returned and the new one has held up to about 500 shots but can;t say I'd recommend it.
I expect t to fail at any moment and the adjustments are less than functional as adjustments should be

I don't know what your idea of medium price range is, but for just under $200, this is an awesome scope.
I have it on my Savage 22 bolt gun, but it's air gun rated as well.

I got tired of replacing cheaper scopes on my pellet guns, so I bought a Nikon ProStaff Target EFR and haven't had any problems since. They're specifically designed for pellet guns and rimfire rifles.

I think I bought mine on sale for around $159 delivered.

^^^Yes Whatever scope you choose be sure it is designed for a pellet gun. Pellet guns will kill a regular scope quite fast.

K1, Excellent choice. I have had that scope on 2 .177 pellet rifles and both have seen over 2000 shots under them and still accurate as all get out. I have told a bunch of guys about the EFR and how you can fine tune for parallax and focus to optimize the way you shoot. Best of all, if you ever do have an issue it's covered by Nikon's No Fault Warranty. Now if Nikon would just make it in a 4-12!
