    Steiner T5xi 1-5

I just got a Demo 1-5 off of OP for $899 after the coupon. I was wondering if this was a good deal, if anyone had any experience with OP demos, and whether or not the T5xi issues have been resolved.

    TIA

I bought 2 and returned 2. It was such a turd.

Sad... given they could have really took a huge share of the market if they didn't royally screw it up.

OP, I am referring to the 5-25... the 1-5 could be good, but I have no idea. Sorry for the sort of off topic response.

I have a 1-5 and I like it. I haven't really ran it hard but for what I have done shooting out to a hundred its sufficient. As soon as the weather cools off, I will start pushing it further out to 500 at some steel.

OK thanks. I already have p4xi on one rifle and wanted to step it up a notch for the second. The p4xi is a great optic

                I have a p4xi and think it's great. I would buy a 5 no question.

What about it was bad? Can you give us your thoughts? I had hoped the 1-5 would be good.

I have one, bought it in December. Long story short, one of the inside lenses shattered, could have been my fault. I had it in a Bobro mount. Sent it back to Steiner and they sent me a new scope. Remounted it on my rifle and took it out and dialed it in, got about 80 rounds of 556 through it. Looked through the optic and saw a thick black arched line obstructing the optic just above the cross hairs. WTF, I attempt to troubleshoot the issue, when I turned the diopter the thick black line would move as well. Called Steiner and they sent me a prepaid postage back. As soon as I get it back, it's getting sold, I'm unfortunately going to take a loss on it.

Turrets felt cheap and one of them had a weird hang up where the tension would change. The glass seemed no better than my p4xi

Try to see if you can get a deal on a Sightmark SM13028TMD 1-6x24 on ebay. I've got one that I'm selling as well because I need the cash.

It's made in Japan with Japanese glass. Very bright and clear. Reticle is something different but I find it works for me.
