Mounts/Optic Help

Hey ya'll my dad has a rifle, a Browning Bar 7mm Rem Mag, which was borrowed out of state by my uncle/his brother and one of his sons took it out to he ended up breaking it. Not sure what else he did but it does not have the front post as well some sort of long story I guess. I want to fix it up for him. Any suggestions for a new scope for this rifle? Might also need new scope rings for it as well.

What is the rifle mostly used for? Hunting?

Got any sort of budget in mind? Existing ring setup is for 1inch tube?

Your going to need a scope that can take a beating.

I would think a dangerous game scope. Something made for big magnums.

Soooo.........Your cousin borrowed your Dad's rifle, beat the hell out of it, broke it, and gave it back to your father without bothering to repair all the damage? Or offer to buy him a new BAR and optic? Nice cousin you have there.

I would personally call Browning to see if they can put a new front sight back on it. As far as the optic, as mentioned previously, it depends on what it's being used for as well as your father's personal preferences.

Yeah, pretty much like I said long story lol. That's why I want to help my dad out with this situation. The rifle would be used for hunting and I would like to keep it under $400. I'm not sure if the ring setup is 1 inch or not the rifle is out of state with my uncle(took the pics) but it does look like it though.
I'll call browning to get more info.
