    EOTech 517

I tried searching for it already, but no luck. I have a Stag 2ht coming and want an Eotech. The 517 is said to be raised 7mm for handgaurd purposes. Will that extra height also help for NO co-witnessing like I'm searching for. If not, any other suggestions? I prefer to have my irons just below my dot.
    Thanks

You really really want co-witnessing. The 7mm rise will make it lower 1/3 co-witness which will give you a more unobstructed view.

Not wanting to co-witness is sort of like saying you don't want 2 legs, just 1 to hop on.

The standard height Eotechs give absolute co-witness, and can be switched to lower 1/3 co-witness (irons just below the dot) by adding a riser from LaRue, YHM, or others.

The higher Eotechs give lower 1/3 co-witness.

If you want flexibility, the standard height with a riser is pretty ideal. If you know you want lower 1/3 and will never want anything different, the higher ones may make sense.

I noticed on my 553 that it's lower 1/3 which I like. I did notice that when I deployed the BUIS and lined up the irons, the eotech then became absolute co-witness with the center dot right on top of the front site post.

Sorry, yes i want co-witnessing, as in i want to be able to use an EOTech without it lining up with the irons. My roommate has a RRA EOTech dominator mount and to my knowledge it places the dot just above the irons. that is ideally what I'm looking for. From what you are saying the 7mm raised EOTech would do just that.

yes, that's exactly what you will get with an EOTech with the 7mm riser. I just happen to like military issued gear and I like the throw levers better than the knob. Just make sure your upper receiver is a mil-spec 1913 Picatinny rail, if not, it's hit or miss with ARMS as they are "dead-on" this spec.
