    Aimpoint M4 vs. M4S

Which would you choose (or even better, which did you choose) and why?

Also, are there any other significant differences between the two models besides the battery placement?

I realize this is pretty subjective, but I'm curious nonetheless.

I find the M4s a little less distracting, but they're functionally the same.

The M4s looks less bulky, though that's just an optical illusion. Than again 99% of us buy stuff because of the way it looks anyways so the M4s wins.

Of course your going to get a bunch of the following so I'll just be the first to say it:

      T-1 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The CompM4s has a lower center of gravity.

I've never run into any issues with the battery box at the 2 o'clock position on my Comp M3, but I wanted to try something different, which is why I went with the M4s.

No differences other than battery box placement.

If you ever plan on mounting a magnifier on your rifle, the M4 might be a better choice due to the location of the battery box. I'm using the LaRue "Po Boy Special" and when the magnifier is flipped to the side, it's a little tougher to reach the intensity knob. However, it really isn't an issue when the magnifier isn't flipped to the side.

I have a couple of the M4, I too was concerned about battery box placement, but it's not much different that the M3. I also like the fact the brightness control is up higher. Either one is fine. but just for fun I may sell one of the M4 and get an M4s just to have one of each. I am crazy that way ; )
