    Excited, mount question.

I just pre-ordered the new US Optics B10, my first scope. Any recommendations for mounts? Not set on qd or not. Looking at larue and Giselle. Opinions?

What gun is it going on?
What distances do you plan to shoot?

The mount for shooting a 223 at 100 yards is different than the mount need to shoot your 338 LM at 2000 yards.

Going on my 308ar, looking to reach out to 600-800 yards for steel, 100 yards for groups right now.

GDI, LaRue, Bobro, Spuhr, KAC, ETC

Pick one you like the looks of the most. I just cant recommend ADM, they just seem shoddy based off the aimpoint micro mount i had from them.

ADM: I have a mix of mounts and while I have a number of good ADM mounts, their QC is horrendous. In addition, their fit and finish is pretty horrid on many of their mounts. I had an Aimpoint mount that was so off, I would be embarrassed to be ADM. ADM's customer service shrugged off my concern, never made good and told me having a massive gap under my micro mount was acceptable.

Larue: Great mounts and customer service from my experience. The only downsides to their mounts are the rail contact area is small and the mounts tend to mar rails.

Bobro: Great mounts and customer service from my experience. Their ring halves can be a pain to install and I stripped one of the nuts once. I contacted Bobro and they fixed me up ASAP.

Spuhr: Very expensive but very well made.

AGREED. My experices exactly. I had unacceptable gap and they only sent me new screws like it would magically fix their ******* machining LOL

Agree on the other companies. Lately ive been just going to KAC for everything, they are underrated for mounts but their mounts are as nice as their rifles. Very good stuff.

My recommendation is that unless you specifically need QD capability, save some weight and money and get fixed mounts. Seekins or Badgers are good options without breaking the bank. Spuhr mounts are excellent but expensive.

You don't say for which gun. (OK I see it is for a 308 AR)

If you have the money, buy the best mount you can afford. Cheap mounts will give you problems. You won't know if it is you, the gun, the scope, or the mount.

Quick Detach sounds useful, but do you really need it. You have to think about when you will need to use it. Other mounts can also be removed and reinstalled, although not "quickly." Most likely the only time you need to remove the scope is if it is broken, and you want to use iron sights. If your rifle doesn't have iron sights you don't need to remove your scope. If it does, you can remove a standard mount with a wrench. I decided against the QD mounts, and just carry a torque wrench in my range bag if I need to reinstall my mount after removing it.

I have a Warne and Colt mount on my two ARs, and Leupold steel mounts on my Marlins.

I like Aero because they work great and weigh so little.

This, but I would also add Geissele. Very impressed with mine. Seekins is top notch as well.
