ok, So I got my TRS25 --- it is the newer one, with the white letters

I mean, I got it for $84 shipped new in box with a .83" UTG riser also --- so really can't complain.

I tried it without my glasses, and I think I do have an astigmatism, as I saw a bunch of grapes on setting 11, as soon as I looked through my glasses, it was fine though.

Is this your first red dot? Take the optic outside and dont focus on the actual dot. Focus on an object 10-25 yards away. The dot should become crisp

Anyone try one of the Athalon 1-4x24 scopes? @ $170 and $300 they might qualify as bargains if they are any good... I read a few reviews saying they track good, but not much info out there.

Weaver Kaspa series is hit or miss, but they do have a 1-4x24 that is a FFP for $180-$230

Also a Kaspa 1.5-6x24 SFP for $170

if you co-witness with your backup sights it will greatly reduce the distortions.

On a whim, I picked up a Sightmark Wolverine CSR on Amazon for like $108. I put it on my CZ Scorpion. I've yet to shoot it but it gives a very nice first impression. Ruggedized, rubberized exterior, good lens caps, solid mount options, clear glass, bright clear dot. It's a little bulkier than my Sparc AR but seems equally functional. Also, it uses a AA battery. I like it so much, I picked up the larger version (Wolverine FSR). If I had to pick between the two, go with the smaller CSR.

"Recoil: 500" 500 what?
"Battery life: 900-1,000,000/50,000" what? Minutes? Hours? Seconds?
4 MOA dot? Unnacceptable in a world of 2 MOA dots
1 MOA per click is a pretty gross adjustment, and wont be as finely tuned as even the primary arms with .5 MOA clicks (which comes in at a lower cost and Primary Arms gets better feedback overall as a company)
3 ft submersible is a bit low for todays optics
It has an IP67 rating so its as waterproof as the iphone 7, though with a $100~ optic you have to really wonder how high/low quality the seals are and how fast they will deteriorate

Due to their lackluster attention to detail in a product sheet id be hesitant to put that optic on any serious duty rifle, much less be ok with paying actual money for it.

With irons you should front sight focus. With a red dot, its target focus. So what are you focusing on?

I keep both eyes open and target acquire with the dot. I absolute co-witness, I find that after 20-30 rds I develop "muscle memory" and with the dot off I can stay on target easier. Without the dot, I front focus.

So it might be a little late to ask this, but I was still able to hit paper @ 100 yds, not properly sighted in with my FSB and $9.99 shipped off ebay A2 carry handle.. since this will mostly be a range gun, do I even need the red dot?

Probably not but red dots allow you to see "under" the dot, and observe all around the target. Theyre also faster
