    Mini-14 rail?

I am helping a friend with his mini-14. He is running a Primary Arms ACSS 1-6 with a Larue SPR 1.5 mount and a B-Square rail.
It is claimed that you can use the iron sights with the rail mounted. I can see the front sight but cannot line up the front and rear. Additionally I am certain that the dimensions for the rail are off and cannot get the Larue mount to seat any longer. I had it seated once but it has started to chew up the B-Square rail.
He would like a setup that allows him to use the sights with with the rail installed. I have been searching and believe he may have to settle for a better quality rail without using the sights.
Can anyone recommend a better rail or setup. I would appreciate any advice from you experienced mini-14 guys.

Forward optic mount for Ruger Mini-14 (pre-2008): enables use of IER scopes, reflex sights & holographic sights. Easy installation, co-witnesses. Made in USA

As good as it may get. I don't have much experience with minis but I don't think it's feasible to mount a scope and leave your sights unobscured.

I went down this road. It's Ultimak for sure. The rail is low enough to not obscure the use of iron sights when the optic is removed. In fact, if you use a one-inch tube-style red-dot optic (i.e., Ultradot) in extra-low Weaver tip-off rings, you can even get the red dot to co-witness with your iron sights! No kidding!
Nehemiah 4:13-18 I stationed the families at our vulnerable spots with their weapons. The men worked in shifts to rebuild our walls; one half worked while the other half guarded. Each of the workers had his weapon either at his side or in his hand while he worked.

I found out one of the issues with his set up is the b-square mount is weaver style and the larue is picatinny. Thanks guys!
