You can't use irons through any magnified optic.

What are everyone's thoughts on the donut of death vs the Chevron recticles on ACOGs?

it seems like most military and civilian users use the Chevron

TA-31F, Eye relief is a little short but FOV and size and weight also factor in. Life is a compromise.

I used to shoot with a guy that was an arrogant A@#, but he was pretty savie when it came to rifles.

He bought TA11's with donuts and the 308 bdc reticle. His theroy was the dount is the same between both scopes. On an AR for ranging he would use the top of the circle, the center of the circle and the bottom or first line and that would cover him to 350 yards. At the time 3 gun didn't go much past 300 yards. If he needed the scope on a 308 he could use any of them and they were ready to go just dial them in.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Im using the ta55 -i love it...the eye relief is awesome ..the only downside is that it is heavy at 25.6 oz. I took that into consideration and got a lighter rifle.

I don't know if this help but I like to play around Trijicon's website. Having owned a TAO1NSN I know they make nice stuff but those fiber optics are definetly nice. I am personally really like the donut and the horseshoe reticle. Like the other posters I think the TA11's and the TA31's are nice. I am also interested in the TA33's. Get whichever you like the most, if you can find someone who will let you see or use their ACOG.
