Camera tripod on spotting scope?

I've read from here and other places that sometimes, they use a camera tripod on their spotting scope for one reason or another, i.e. tripod that comes with spotting scope was crappy for instance. I have a Velbon camera tripod. Do spotting scopes typically come with a way to mount on a camera tripod? Mine has a little screw that typically would mount on an a camera.

I have a Velbon camera tripod that in it's most compact height, is 21". Not sure if that's a little too high for bench shooting?

1/4"-20 Threading is standard on cameras and spotting scopes.

You can set up the tripod next to your shooting bench.

Thanks Ted. I was looking into input if 21" is too high right on the bench, though probably not a good idea knowing I'm clumsy trying to squeeze in that much stuff in a small area. Not sure if benches in Livermore as wider or as wide as Chabot or others. I can put it next to me, but it becomes a wider base so not sure how that'll work out with not much space between wall and bench. All just really to see quickly how I shot a group w/o laying down rifle to check.

Spotting scope on the way. I hope to find out by next weekend.
