Geissle M-LOK hand guard iron sights

I'm trying to figure out how to get a backup iron sight installed in the 45 degree offset position. So far I have yet to find an M-LOK iron sight set, and 1913 inserts don't have enough clearance to mount an iron sight. I found a front sight, and a reference to a rear. But I can find no evidence that it actually exists.

    Ideas?

Which Geissele rail are we talking about?

So why aren't you mounting the sight to the top rail? I assume your rear sight is (or will be) mounted to the top of the receiver ...

Plan was optic on top and irons on 45 to the right.

Yes, I understand. But mount them on top.

            Like this:

Or use a pair of rails like this:

Otherwise, I have no idea how you plan to mount your rear sight, let alone how you think it will align with a front sight that's hypothetically mounted to a 45-degree position on a rail of arbitrary diameter.

Just looked at your KAC links ... I see that the front sight is designed to work with the KAC offset rear sight, but I would be REALLY leery of assuming it will work with any old handguard, no matter what the product page says. As I alluded to in the previous post, there's not really a standard for handguard diameter, which means your sight alignment could potentially be way off. But all the ones I posted above should work just fine as long as your top rails (receiver and handguard) are properly aligned.

Yeah, I see your point [emoji53] I'm brand new to the AR game.

                Thanks

I was clearly too focused on keeping the top rail open for optics mounts and eye relief adjustment flexibility.

Out of curiosity, what kind of optic are you looking at?

Honestly, still undecided. Possibly a 1-8 x 24. At the moment it has a Leupold 4-14 x 40 because it was all I had on hand. It has not even been fired yet because I'm waiting on a part.

Something like that should be mounted on a cantilever mount, and even so will probably wind up pushed somewhat forward on the rail to achieve proper eye relief. You shouldn't have any trouble getting an offset rear sight or a 45-degree rail positioned behind it.
