    New eotech models?

Any rumors of new eotech hws to be unveiled at shot show? I'm surprised they haven't come out with any new models to fix their thermal drift etc.

You really can't "fix" thermal drift

Seems like they are still working on getting their riflescopes and mounts to take off, so I really don't know what they will have for SHOT

Maybe they will have a table that will take in Eotechs and cut you a refund check on the spot.

Supposedly their newer models made after November 2015 had fixed their issues. That's from their Rep that deals with my agency.

The problem was Eotech could not fix the thermal problem. They worked with DOD to solve it but couldn't. DOD filed a lawsuit in Dec 2015 and Eotech issued a full price recall the next day. They still sell the models with the thermal issue but change the thermal operating range specification so they could not be held liable for false advertising. My guess is without the DOD contract, current models manufacturing costs are too high. Expect a more retail oriented consumer version without military certification.

It's interesting but I still see a lot of military entities rocking eotechs. Are they not recalled? Check out this video from earlier this year https://youtu.be/a6-nuuRhOz0

Edit: Found a really good article explaining what's going on https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.3007a153f7fd

As far as I know, L3 has their hands in a lot of contracts and products. Namely the mil spec AN/PVS-14 and 15 OMNI VIII tubes. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they'll take the loss and keep on chugging.

They have said they are not going to fix the EOTech sights.

It would require a redesign, re-tooling, and retraining of their workforce and this is not worth it to them.

Aimpoint has been the go to replacement. A division of Raytheon makes some hella expensive red dot. I've heard SOCOM is testing them out,

Yup, I got $550 back for mine. I was glad too because it wasn't reliable enough for me. It had been back to EOTech for repair once, so I just didn't use it anymore. A $550 paperweight until the Buy Back program! Thank goodness.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.
