Lowest fixed iron sights for AR type

    Hello All:
I am wondering what are the lowest fixed iron sights out there that will mount on a rail? I have picked up an ARES SCR with the standard stock and will need sights as low as possible. Not looking for flip up styles, not interested in optical sights.
I have looked at the LMT, Daniel and lots of cheap ones too.
I am wondering what else there is. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I think that people have been using the CZ Scorpion sights? The HK 416/MR556 and Troy Micro sights should be lower, as well, since the receiver/rail are higher than that of a normal AR.

You may have a hard time finding sights lower than the standard AR sights.

Here is a set, that might be lower. I do not know if they will fit on a standard rail.

The CZ sights are interesting. The Skorpion pistol sights are not in stock, and I'm not sure the front one is a clamp-on type from the looks of it. The bigger Bren sights look very nice too.
The SIG sights seem to be Williams.

Anything made for an AR top rail is going to be roughly the same height. I don't believe the Sig sights are Picatinny compatible, which means the CZ sights are your best bet here unless there's something else out there I haven't encountered.

I have both -- the more-expensive set is nicer, predictably, but either will work.

The Troy Micro is probably the sight set i would go with

I would expect those to be too tall, especially with the standard stock. The CZ Scorpion sights are perfect for me with the Monte Carlo stock.

Yes, and they fold. I am trying to avoid folding sights.
Thanks for the input on the CZs.
Are you using the ones from the pistol or the carbine?

HK pattern guns use shorter sights due to the raised rail from the piston system. Those will be your best bet.

No idea which is which. I'm using the more expensive set from the page you linked. They seem a bit better made, and I seem to remember maybe they're more adjustable.

                      Thanks again.
Do you know if the front post uses a standard A2 part?
How many apertures are on the rear sight?

I went with folding sights. Poly from EBay... Dirt cheap and equal or better quality than the same in iron... and never rust.

Sorry I wound up letting this question slip ...

No idea on the front post. The rear sight has four apertures that rotate into position.

I ended up buying the CZ Skorpion sights. They look very nice. I should be receiving them soon. It looks like a standard A2 front post will fit in and I'm hoping to install a tritium one at some point.
                            Thanks
