I have some thoughts of putting an Inforce APL on my G19 to replace the current TLR-1. Primary reason is the smaller size. I also "think" I like the APL switch better.
I don't dislike the TLR but the big disadvantage for me is that the rotary switch functions in a different direction depending on the side of the pistol you are activating on. I use the WML as a back up to my hand-held, and from a training standpoint the APL seems to have an advantage over the TLR.
However... I used to have a CMR-204 mounted but I found that sometimes I would inadvertently activate the switch on the CMR - and the switch is similar in orientation and activation to the Inforce. The nice thing about the rotary switch on the TLR is it's nearly impossible to trigger accidentally during normal weapons handling.
Question for APL owners - can you adjust the fore/aft distance of the light when mounted to a Glock? If you've ever used both CMR and APL - is the switch similar? Lastly, are their any advantages to the Glock-specific APL over the standard APL 200?
