The irons that are on the M&P Sport II are $Free.99! Lol.

Having a $500 option is ok, but pretty steep considering that the rifle cost $725.

General rule of thumb is spend half the price of the gun on an optic or be cheap and don't.

By following that rule I'd recommend an aimpoint pro, comes with mount will last forever battery and durability wise and it will have better clarity but for 150 bucks I'd say buy irons or ammo. Just my opinion.

I just picked up a Sig Romeo 5. I like the auto-on feature and the fact that it comes with both a high and low mount and 40,000 hour battery life. It also has a lifetime warranty. For $179 the price was right.
