    Bushnell TRS-25 Flip-Up Caps

Has anyone found flip-up caps that work with the TRS-25?

I have modified Butler Creek size 04 to work. They look factory. I attach them with a very small amount of CA glue. I have done this on at least three sets and never had any problem.

I use calipers to score a consistent line around the flange then I cut with scissors on the score to shorten the cover, then attach it with a little glue. They will stay on without glue but they work loose as you use them, so I tack them down.

Here is a pic. Tomorrow afternoon I can get you more pics or dimensions of the material removed if you need.

Looks good Mr. SkyHawk, but I have a question...

How does CA glue differ from 49-state glue?

Duh! Nancy Pelosi tests every bottle's ability to hold up her eyebrows. Only the strongest stuff gets the 'CA' approval.

Or maybe it is this, but keep in mind that Snopes hasn't weighed in on the Pelosi story yet...

The abbreviation "CA" is commonly used for industrial grades.

I was asked to bump this old thread with some dimensions for the cut lines on these caps. For future folks who find this thread via search, here is some more info.

Butler Creek #4 caps for Bushnell TRS-25.

Front cap face to cut line .545"
Rear cap face to cut line .460"

These dimensions are not super critical, just don't go too short.

In keeping with the low price theme of the TRS-25, it is just a cheap UTG mount. It does co-witness the backup irons right in the center.

I don't think UTG makes the lever QD mount in the right profile for absolute co-witness anymore although others probably do.

But this is the replacement mount they have - it has a paddle type screw now. Probably works better, the lever on the old one was not real great. Unless you cranked down the adjusting screw to the point the lever would not even budge, then the mount would move fore/aft a bit.

These Butler Creek 04 Objective Flip-ups worked on a Holosun HS503GU that I'm running on my Ruger PCC. I had to trim the rear/eye cover a bit but not the front and secured both with a few small dabs of Gorilla Gel Super Glue. Used this slightly different procedure than Skyhawk's to trim the one cover down - https://imgur.com/a/ReTdB#Is1ZJwk

I ordered the flip caps from Holosun for my HS503GU's. They screw directly into the housing.
