    Scope caps

I have a couple Bushnell 1-6.5 scopes (BHET1624F and BHET1624SF) that came with bikini covers that I'd like to swap for flip-up caps. Any suggestions? I believe the front is 30mm on both, having trouble finding the eyepiece size.

If you can get aadland caps, go for it. Tenebraex caps might be an option, but I've only ever seen those listed for a really limited number of scope models.

If your only choice is butler creek, don't bother and keep the bikini covers.

Spot on. I use Tenebraex ADRs on all my scopes simply because I hate Butler Creek caps, which I can't stand. Then, I unscrew the ADR is it's a situation that needs more light or extreme distances.

Caps that aren't garbage? Butler creek caps are junk. Flimsy hinges(and you'd think its the 2 tabs holding up the hinge pin that would break. Nope, it's the piece connecting the cap to the hinge pin), the plastic tab for the ocular end is cheap junk and will sometimes want to flex instead of opening the cap properly, and having a tab snap off of the objective lens cap while trying to open it sucks.

Aadland caps are nice and sturdy, so are tenebraex(even the leupold aluminum caps are nice for that matter, but those are leupold only so no point in bringing them up).

Now if you happen to have older BC caps, those are supposedly decent but in the past few years the quality of them has plummeted so far that I wouldn't trust such a flimsy piece of crap to actually "protect" anything.

They are a few years old. 4 sets. I use the guns every week & no issues.......yet.
Good to know though. Only choice in LGS are BC.
I did try a search on the caps before posting & found nothing.

The new Vortex Defender caps might be worth trying out. They are pretty new, so not many reviews or any long term tests with them yet. They look pretty durable though:

Butler creek isn't bad unless the size you need is part of a "1 fits 2 size" The objective end of my bushnell 3.5-21 is one of those and the damn thing opens by itself 50 % of the time and with the slightest bump. Fcking frustrating. Eyepiece works great though and I have no complaints on that end.
                  Have a good day!

Expensive, but very good quality. See if he has some that fit.

                      +1 for Defender Flip Caps

Really great product that they designed in house.

Stay away from Butler. They've been crap since about 2010/2011 or so. They used to have a solid product. I'm guessing they switched vendors somewhere around that time. I used to have no problems with their caps. Always worked, never a problem. Then, around 2010 or so, I had two, purchased from different retailers, break from doing nothing more than sitting inside a rifle bag.

For now, I'd stick with Tenebraex and Aadmount.

Sadly those don't go small enough. The scopes I have are 30mm tube and the front doesn't get any bigger.

                            Yeah they do.

The vortex strike eagle scope is a 1-6x24 with a 30mm tube, so it should fit any scope where the front bell is really just the tube diameter at 30mm.

+2 on these. Very nice at a great price. I also like how they fold all the way back flat against your scope so they are not flapping in the wind.
