Aimpoint or C-More for Open gun

I've used Aimpoints for years on many platforms but never owned a C-More red dot. Who likes what?

Not knocking aimpoints but the C-More's more open design allows both eyes open more readily than a "tube" style optic IMHO

So with that in mind, competitive pistol shooters find target aquisition faster with the C-More IMHO

We own 2 of them and probably should have 4 of them as they often switch duty between rifle and pistol

The relative ease of switching MOA dot size is also a financially attractive option at approx. $50.00 per module...
usually not found on other optics

The length of the C-More also makes for a longer built in sight radius between the MOA diode and the screen which in theory should make it more accurate that shorter "wheelbase" red dots...YMMV

Ours interchange between AR, .22lr pistol and .22lr rifle although admittedly they gained their claim to fame in Open Pistol compititions.

They are a fast pointing CQB capable optic whose only downside is battery type and life...compared to other/newer optics...we still prefer our C-Mores

If we had it to do over I would buy again...except I'd buy 4 instead of 2

We've owned 2 of them for 4 years, no failures, click / polymer models, one extra MOA module
Investment of about $250ish each and one MOA diode module at $49.00
Don't think you can do that in an Aimpoint but not sure

The polymor version is way more budget friendly than the aluminum version albeit not as exotic...

The "click" knob version IS HIGHLY worth the extra cost of admission...and not to repeat myself but the optional MOA modules are a superior option just not found in other optics

I've often desired the Aimpoints and other more conventional AR red dots for our AR's...but in the end can't get over the superb quick aquisition CQB abilities of the C-More and yeah, they DO look sexy on the AR and co-witness as well

        Yes...spoken like a fan-boy

          Follow-up

          We use
8 MOA for pistol out to 25 yards
4 MOA for pistol / rifle 50 to 100 yards although 2 MOA dot at 100 would be more desirable for paper punching

I am a huge C-more fan boy and I convert people every time I go to a group shoot.

As long as you are not going to war and only plan on limited SD, SHTF, target shooting, competition shooting or General Purpose RDS use..the C-More is far superior to any Aimpoint on the market.

And if you are talking about the tiny little RDS that get mounted in place of the rear sight on a pistol, Leopold and Trijicon beat Aimpoint by a million miles.

If I had a C-more mounted on my first M4 in the Military..it never saw action...LOL..because I wasnt a team guy, I was a support role, this was years before EOTech and now EOtech is sorta been shown to suck...so even limited war use the C-more aluminum is a great choice for a rifle.

The problem is too many people have this fantasy that they are door kickers and active members of SEAL Team 6...or that SEAL Team 6 is gonna call them up and ask them to help out...

                get 1 C-more and...
                8MOA module for pistol
4MOA module for Carbine... and a
Vortex 1-6X24 for anything past 250 yards...

C'more all the way. I also have used this type optic on 45's as well as 38'super and found them to be the best for what I was doing "SPEED PLATE" competitions. Super quick target aguisition. And took allot of abuse during those years...I have the TROPHIES to prove it.
