If it's indeed legit and a Vortex, I wouldn't hesitate personally. Vortex customer service is second to none. If there's a problem with it, they'll make it right.

Leupold offers lifetime guarantee, so even a used one is covered...

After recently sending one in for warranty, I can confirm this. My old Strikefire died and they sent me a brand new Strikefire, including a new mount and 2x magnifier, 2 7" decals and a hat. 7 day turn around, including 2 day shipping to them. I now have an extra 2x mag and 30mm mount.

They dont ask for receipts or care how many previous owners a product has had, as long as you didnt intentionally break it.

Just be sure the warranty on the refurnished unit is the same as for a new one. Sometimes it is not.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

That is awesome, for Vortex, I have two Vortex scopes and that'll probably grow.

When it's vortex it doesn't matter. They will cover it.

I thought I had read on Vortex 's site to be careful of fake scopes .They have had many come in for warranty work that were discovered to be fake. No warranty.

Yes there are also many fake Leupold scopes out there. Just look on e-bay. They are listed as Leupold but most of the time somewhere in the description or specs it will say made in china. NO real Leupold scopes are made in china.

Did the op edit his post and did it originally have "Leupold" in it?

Trying to understand why folks keep bringing it up when the original post looks like he's specifically asking about vortex.

I bought a used ACOG from Amazon, it was counterfeit. They took it back with no problems.

There was a seller on Amazon, Maria something or other selling optics for half off retail. Obviously a SCAM. It took almost a week for the account to get killed.

Also, if the sellers name or item description says to contact them via email - SCAM.

Common sense still applies on Amazon, you know how all the sayings go. Yes, Amazon will likely take care of you, but always use a major credit card as an extra layer of protection. At the same time though, if you know its too good to be true, save everyone some time and just don't order it. You only enable the scammers.
