Will this rail fit on Mini 14?

I'm trying to put my Aimpoint on a Mini 14 that I have in jail. Would this little rail section fit on the rifle?

No. There's no place to put that. You need one of these:

If you bought a new Mini-14 they now come with both the Ruger proprietary rings and a rail that screws to the existing scope mounts.

You should be able to mount anything you want with one or the other factory mounts.

a little more on Mini 14 scope mounts

looks like the one provided by Ruger in the new models blocks out the iron sights. some I have read have been set up with "IRON Sights" type rings with big window to still see the iron sights..... is that a better option?

Here's a picture of my late model Mini-14 with the factory included rail installed on top of the receiver. That's a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot on it. This rail is designed so that it does not interfere with ejection of empty brass. It's a solid idea and I'm happy with it.

If you look closely, you'll also see the familiar Ruger scope ring detents along the top of the receiver, for the included Ruger scope rings.
