I have read many reviews regarding the Bushnell TRS-25. Seems like a well accepted budget red-dot. Has anyone compared it with a TRS-32? The larger diameter should allow more light to penetrate. Would appreciate comments from those who have a TRS-32. Thanks.

TRS-32 v TRS-25

Bushnell
dmy,
I have a couple both.
They are very different sights. The 25 is more on the micro side of RD's and has a 3moa dot. The 32 is more of a full sized RD and has a 5moa dot. The 32 is MUCH heavier and with the included mount, puts the dot higher above the bore.
As for light penetration, I'd say it's a toss up. The 25 is very small tube and the 32 is long tube. Both have decent glass for the money.
The wife's Steel Challenge Rimfire pistol runs the TRS-25 and her AR runs the TRS-32. It co-witnesses nicely. I have an extra TRS-32 on my 10/22 for Steel Challenge and like it. I can still use the Tech Sights with the supplied mount which is nice.
Real question here is what do you want to put it on? Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle? This will make the choice pretty easy once you decide.
Lot's more info around here on these sights.
Hope this helps.

Thanks mrboma. Very helpful info. I am looking at one of the Bushnell to mount on a Colt M4 Expanse. I already have a Magpul flip up rear sight and a stock A2 front sight. One thing that appealed to me is the opening of the TRS-32 base which might allow me to see through the RD base. I am not a Bullseye shooter and have never used a RD, so I'm not sure whether a 5 moa is a downside. So far, I have only shot a couple hundred at the range to test bullets and one 3-gun match. Any other thought and experiences would be greatly appreciated.Comment

dmy,
Your not going to be able to see the flip-sights through the hole in the mount (TRS-32). The sight itself will co-witness your irons with the attached mount. You should be able to put the dot right on the tip of your A2 front site.
5moa dot covers 5 inches of a target at 100 yards. Depending on how precise you want to shoot at longer ranges ... you may want a smaller dot.
If you decide on the TRS-25, grab the UTG Medium mount for it. It will co-witness your A2 sight also.
