    Night sights for G19

I have narrowed down my choices to either the Trijicon HDs or the Ameriglo Pro-Idot. Any other opinions would help out thanks. Also best website to purchase them since I've read a few people ordering from Amazon and getting sent lower models instead.

I've had both and also really like the Ameriglo Spatans a lot. The spartans are similar to the Trij HDs, with the exact same front post but a lower profile rear. My preference is a 3 dot system so the Idot would not be my first choice. I inherited a set with a used pistol and used them for awhile but eventually replaced them with Spartans.

Opticsplanet is a good place to order, especially with a 10% or 12% off code. At minimum you can get 5% off with code Calguns. And you can checkout on their site with Amazon payments if you want to use your Prime card.

While I haven't used these sights in particular, my absolute favorite and most used sights that I also suggest to anyone who asks are Heinie Straight 8 Night Sights. I really like the 2 dot setup as sight acquisition is quicker and less busy for my eyes. Scientific study also suggests that our eyes align vertically much quicker and more efficiently than horizontally. I still believe that it's whatever you're most well practiced with but I don't think the claim is too far fetched as making the transition to the 2 dot setup took VERY little time and practice for me to get comfortable.

I also really like the 10-8 sights as a 2nd favorite. The serrated no-dot rear sight is extremely easy to pick up the tritium front sight through as it feels like it guides your eyes straight to it rather than looking or getting distracted by any sort of busy and bright rear sight markings.

Best of luck in making your pick and I hope that my 2 cents offers some sort of helpful insight.

Trijicon GL01 night sights are pretty sweet. You can order them on amazon with prime too.

I like my meprolight green front orange rear. Nothing special, good quality. No issues about 3-5krds and a year later.

I can say with certainty, the XS dot sights are garbage in function. The product as an individual item, ie build quality, fit/finish are great. However the function is heinous.

Iirc the i-dots are the same concept as the xs. Thusly I will recommend against them on a functional level.

The trijicon hd's seem nice after playing with them for a few minutes. Expensive though.

Heinie straight 8, they are overly expensive but pretty damn good in my opinion. I'm over three dot.

                    True, really great sights.

I really like the Tru Glo TFX Pro

Otherwise I would get the Trijicon HDs

If you are interested in something besides the 3 dot, I would check out the Snake Eyes by Dead Ringer or the R4E ODS sights.

Some of the others are pretty good, but you cannot go wrong with the Trijicon HD's.

                            Trijicon HD review

I cannot recommend the HD sights in any way shape or form. Here are the problems we are observing in classes. The short if it is a large majority of shooters shoot high when using these sights. There is a sizeable space between the top of the front sight and the fluorescent insert. In daylight conditions the eye focuses on the insert and the students align the top of the insert to the top of the rear sight. The change in elevation causes missed headshots at 12 yards consistently. It is worse on some models then others ie m&p HD's have a huge gap. They are suitable for minute of man at ten yards but any type of precision shooting ie head shots or suspect in cover shots becomes problematic for average students. Anyone can train through this but most dont.

It doesn't help that companies list the height of the sights only by the height of the sight with no reference to height of the insert or the nights sights.
