Vortex prism optic

I have a vortex spitfire ar prism red dot on my ar15 I was thinking about getting a magnifier but saw on vortexs website that they don't recommend using a magnifier with a prism red dot. Does anyone know why?

Answer: When you are using a prism optic you need to adjust the diopter to to focus the reticle. When you place a 4.3 inch magnifier in between your eye and the Spitfire AR which requires 3.8 inches of eye relief you run into a problem. There is not enough space to make the setup work. You'll continually need to change focus between using the optic with a magnifier and without, thereby eliminating any advantage a magnifier offers in the first place.
