Been thinking about getting this Leupold VX-6 3-18x50mm
I don't think I would use 18x, but probably 12-14x at the highest. I noticed when checking out scopes in person that if I maxed out the magnification it was much more difficult to find the "sweet spot" in regards to eye relief. If I dialed down 2-4x, it seemed to be better. Is there any validity to this concept? If I want better eye relief at a certain magnification, should my max scope magnification be higher than that?
Also, is this leupold a good pick for the money? Any others I should check out? It will be mostly for target shooting, perhaps a hunt or two in the future.
Thanks
