Nightforce, Kahles, Vortex, or Sigoptics?

I finished my 6.5 Creedmoor build and am needing to put some glass on it... This is my first run at a rifle which can reach out to "long distance (1000m)". I have researched the heck out of the topic, but I don't know if I am any better off after scouring the internet so figured I'd see if anyone has experience with these scopes or even better compared them side by side. Any insight is appreciated.



1.) Nightforce ATACR F1 5-25x56

2.) Kahles K624i 6-24x56

3.) RAZOR HD GEN II 4.5-27X56

4.) Sig Optics Tango6 5-30x56

For me personally it would be between the Kahles and the Razor scopes you listed...

I know nothing about the Sig optics, and the Nightforce just isn't for me.

That said, once you reach this level of optic, its more about making sure fit, feel, features, and operation agree with you. Generally speaking people have to really look for things to nit-pick about. Selections start to become more personal preference since they will most likely all preform well and get the job done unless someone dropped the ball in QC.

I saw my first Razor earlier this month and the impression that I got was that it looked huge. It seemed to dwarf the rifle it was sitting on top of.

The thing that really appeals about the Kahles is the SKMR3 reticle is simple but effective. The red dot in the middle instead of crosshairs MAY make for more accurate target alignment (particularly when working up loads), and illumination is a plus. The left sided windage is awesome, and the parralax ring is also on top which seems nice.

I got to hold the Tango6 at Rahaages a few weeks ago, but beyond that there is no real user reviews online about it. I liked the 30x magnification and the custom "ballistic turrets"

My friend has the vortex, but beyond that all I know it's popular. Same for Nightforce.

All good choices for 6.5CD, except I don't know about the Sig. You are right that Internet reviews are horrible, and that's because we have different eyes and preferences. You don't know exactly what you want until you get more first hand experience. Just look at your reticle options, weight, etc., and just get one. Your list shows you are looking in the right spot to start.

There's a comparison I did a while back... granted it was a gen 2 kahles.

There's nearly zero info on actual field usage of the Sig, so personally I'd sit that one out until I got some real reports from folks that can put it through its paces.

I agree. The Sig scopes I saw at SHOT looked quite good, but I don't like being a beta tester for my shooting equipment unless it's a minor expense and I can afford the time to experiment.

Well although the MSRP of the Sig is 2400 I know for a fact it can be had for 500 ish less... The rest are street value 2400-2600 so I don't know if that means anything. Is it wrong to be attracted to a 30x scope over a 24-25x? I know it's about glass, not magnification but who knows at this price range

It means absolutely nothing. Euro vs Japanese glass is purely based on how they spec it out and how much money they're willing to spend.

I don't know where you're finding one of these for $500, but at that price, I probably would be willing to test drive. High end magnification means nothing unless you can still see your target. This high up, mirage can be a huge problem.

I think they are all good choices. It will come down to personal preference such as which reticle you like the best as well as features that are important to you and your mission criteria. Example for hunting you want it as light as possible for bench shooting weight really isn't a big concern.

Not for 500 dollars... 500ish less than the 2400 MSRP

The Sig line of scopes are very nice and well made.

Vortex products are also superb and their Warranty/Customer Service is a value all on its own

I really like the Kahles scopes, especially since they are not as commonly seen and the reticle choices are very well thought out.

While I personally don't get any warm and fuzzies about Nightforce, they definitely should be in the consideration as they make an excellent product that is tailored for your application.

I am looking at some long range scopes for a 6.5 Grendel build and a 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger Precision...

My top two contenders so far are Kahles and Vortex.
