Eotech 512 mounted on a Benelli M4?

My dad recently went Helicopter pig hunting in Texas. He first started out with a AR-15 mounted with a Eotech 512. Despite being the biggest fudd I've ever met, He said he liked the red dot, but predictably hated the AR-15. He couldn't hit much with the AR. The helicopter pilot then handed him a Benelli M4, and he couldn't miss. My dad fell in love with the shotgun, and just recently bought an M4 for himself. His birthday is coming up, and I thought it would be nice to get him a Eotech 512 for his Benelli.

I want to know if anyone here has any experience with an Eotech mounted on a semi-auto shotgun. Will 3" 00 defense loads shake an Eotech to pieces, and if so, what would be able to withstand the recoil?

The eotech should be fine. The M4 handles recoil pretty nicely.

But, I don't think the rail is up to spec. I've read reports of people having scopes work loose. Maybe they changed it recently but I'd doubt it.

I run full power slugs and 00 buck through my M4. No problems with Eotech or rail. Been over 5 years and have not had to re-zero. Easily knocks down soda cans at 100yds with slugs.
