Dumb Question on Sighting in a Scope

I know this is a dumb question, but it has been a very long time since I sighted in a scope. This is for my Ruger 10/22, so I did not want to spend a huge amount of money on a plunker, just to put holes in paper. So the scope is not a real expensive one. It is a Barska sniper style scope (model AC11670). There are no markings on the scope for up or down, or right and left. Neither are there any mention of which way to turn the turrets for adjusting for shooting high or low, or right or left in the manual, which is only 2 small pages. So, does anyone know which direction I should turn the elevation turret if shooting high; and which way to turn the windage turret if shooting to the right? Any help would be much appreciated.

5. Without moving the rifle adjust the windage and elevation screws to centre the reticle on the
target. To raise the point of impact, turn the elevation screws anti clockwise. To shift left turn
windage screw clockwise.
