    EOTech 557

Quick question about my EOTech. When looking at the HOLOgraphic reticule, all you have to do is move a smidget and the reticule has moved. How does one make sure it is in the right place? Should you adjust so that when it is centered, it is zeroed? The reason I have slight issue is when I rest my cheek on buttstock, the reticule goes to the top, I have to hold my head up a bit to keep it in the middle and that throws me off a bit as I was trained to put the weight of face on butt stock :/

That's normal as the reticule doesn't have to be centered for your point of impact to stay consistent. This allows you to shoot accurately when the sight is damaged or you don't have the perfect cheekweld.

Cool, thanks. I only have the cheekweld problem in the prone, so I think I can get used to holding my head up a bit. Easier than changing the zero

its a holographic sight, so no matter how inconsistent ur cheek weld may be, the bullet will go where the dot is as long as you have it zeroed properly. That said, u should be usually getting the same sight picture.. nose to charging handle sir?

O, ok, so let me get this straight. If I set the reticule right on top of the front sight post and fire a round, and then for the next shot, the reticule is a little to the left of the front sight and low, it will still hit the same place? New to the whole holographics thing (used to ACOGs), so I am still getting this thing down pat.

I know you just got it today but were you able to shoot and zero it today?

No Just mounted it and was trying out how it worked. I plan on doing so very soon though. Have to see how the EOTech works asap

Yep, once you zero it to 50y, do some snap shooting from different cheek positions and you'll see how the reticule works.

What so Great about RED DOT sight is you do not need to worry about head alignment.

As long as its zeroed then it's zeroed. You cab be looking through it sideways and the reticle dot could be on the corner of the screen and if it's zeroed it's still zeroed. Eyerelief is infinite also so youreye can be really closee or really far from optic as long as you can see reticle.
