Help finding a scope for 300 blackout build

I really don't like any kind of BDC reticles so I'm having a hard time finding something that will work for me.

I'd like a 1-4 or a 1-6 zoom with mil dots. Does anyone make one in the <$500 price range?

FFP if possible.

Also, I don't want a reticle that has BDC. If it's off a little bit, it's basically useless. Mil dots are always going to be Mil dots.

Your not finding anything ffp at that price range. BDC is ideal for a 300bo. I would use mils for a precision rifle shooting past 600

What bullet weight and velocity is your BDC set for?

110gr ~2300 fps on my latest batch. I sometimes load 125 gr ~ 2100 fps. I'd like to load some heavier bullets, maybe 150 gr, but haven't yet and don't know what velocity I will get yet.

Bullets I am currently loading with:

110 gr Hornady V-max, Hornady 110 gr SP #3010, Sierra 110 gr HP #2110, Sierra 125 gr SPT #2120, Sierra 150 gr FMJBT 2115.

Here are a bunch of loads that line up.
On the vmax dial 1/4" high and your on to make up for the 50fps difference but personally I would dial in normal maintaining a higher center mass hit ratio.

I guess I don't understand why make a reticle that only works with a handful of bullets and veocities for a round that probably has more bullet weights and powder charges than any other round out there. It severely limits the optics ability to work accurately with a variety of different bullet and powder combinations.

Why not a chevron/circle for CQB accompanied by Mil or MOA marks that could be used for any combination of bullet/velocity?

My understanding is that Vortex has a reticle on their Viper PST (TMCQ Mrad) for this exact reason.

I know it's not FFP but it looks very nice for the money and I have a 4-16 PST on another AR that I love.

This will be going on a 300 blackout AR with 16" barrel.

Do you really need FFP for a 1-4x? Just use it as a red dot at 1x, and then gather your dope at 4X.

I'm beginning to come to that conclusion myself. I'll either have it at 1 or 4...at 1, I won't need the hash marks.
