EOTECH 553.A65

Hi! I am looking to buy an EOtech 553. I just like to get some comments and feedback about the optic. Thanks!

I have not had any problems with mine, still using the original battery's for over a year now. One negative with the A.R.M.S mount is that it limits how far forward you you can put it on the receiver, the front mount is to far forward and you are limited to putting it all the way back against the BUIS (unless you have a mono-rail or a free float rail and want to bridge it).
It has a 7mm raised base for lower third co-witness and quick disconnect levers, for me it was this one or a 512/552 on a Larue riser but I did not care for the extra piece rail on the back of his mount.

I really liked the 553 series and considered it my next best favorite EOTech, next to the 557.

Pros:
1. Nice to carry only one battery type - CR123s - for both your tac light and EOTech.
2. Shorter than the 512 series so it doesn't hang over the handguard.
3. Because of the raised height, it lines up well with both EOTech and AimPoint magnifiers.

Cons:
1. ARMS lever mounts. Yuck.
2. Battery recall. Make sure you get the newer models as they had a recall due to bad battery contacts for this model.
