    Lyman all weather Alaskan scope

Hello I recently came into possession of a Lyman all weather Alaskan scope
Its a 2 1/2 power and has an A278 marking on it and U.S patent num. 2078858 on it.
Im curious obout the history of the scope and maybe if it holds any value it seems in really decent condition it does have some light rust spots on it but the recital is clear and bright. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

That's a commercial Lyman Alaskan scope. Seems like they sell for $250 or so. Though I wouldn't swear to it that is just what I seem to see them listed at. A lot of guys use them on their M1c's and M1d's since they are FAR more affordable than a m84 or m82 scope and sanctioned for vintage sniper matches by the CMP.

They have made Alaskans since the 30's, I'm not really sure when production ceased on them.
