    Trijicon vs Scattergun ghost rings

I was ready to buy a set of decent sights for my 870 and was wondering if the Trijicon and Scattergun sights were one in the same. OR does Trijicon use the Scattergun sights to put their filament?

Any one better than the other?

Not familiar with the "scattergun" sights, but I do know a lot of companies use Trijicon elements in their product. So it's entirely possible a third party is selling "stupid thing with Trijicon elements"... or what have you.

I bought "trijicon" branded ghost ring sights because they were cheaper. When they arrived, the sight was stamped "scattergun Tech" lol.

Regardless of the brand, it's a great sight for a shotgun.

Well I guess they are one in the same!

How much did you pay for the install? I heard they had to be pinned professionally.

          depends on your skillset.

You need to align, drill and tap the rear sight mount holes, and you can either epoxy or pin the front sight. I did both up front.

I did mine at home with a hand drill and tap. From what I recall I changed the thread pitch and used my own bolts as they send it with a funky size bolt/thread pitch for which I had no tap.

If you pay, I would expect about $100 or so for the install. Pretty quick job, but you gotta pay for peoples skills more than time sometimes.
