    Looking for Basic Scope Instruction/Knowledge

Any help on finding online or books on basic scope operations and calculations .

From how to properly mount a scope, to mil vs moa and how to calculate them, to how to keep a log of shots, dope, etc.

I'm looking to start long(er) distance shooting with .308 and am currently looking at scopes, but it's all a bit overwhelming. I haven't found any one source that really covers all the basic bases and then some.

Currently I'm mostly thinking First Focal Plane scope and probably the Vortex Viper PST and for shooting minimum 200 yards on out.

So, any videos, or online blogs, or books. Any help is appreciated.

      Looking for Basic Scope Instruction/Knowledge

      Thanks.

And in answering my own question, should anyone come across this thread down the line the National Shooting Sports Foundation YouTube channel has pretty much soup to nuts intro videos by Ryan Cleckner who explains pretty much everything with simple easy to understand examples.

For me this is exactly the type of help I can use to understand the basics.
