They are for hunting so low light is a must along with glare when glassing into the sun along with sharp images for seeing antlers.

Vortex is out he doesn't like them

Looking at Zeiss Terra 10x42 ED, Meopro or Meostar 10x42 & Minox BL 10x44 HD
Steiner always has great binocular options....The 10x42 XC would be a good fit for your budget/application

Extremely little chromatic abberation....almost non-existent. These are about $600. Here's a shot I took with my iPhone 4 through the Primes a few years back, and this picture does not do them justice.

That bald eagle seemed like it was zoomed in 3x more than the picture shows.

If you dont want to pay for the field flatteners of the Primes, you can go with the ED3's. They have a 70% sweet spot and have the same clean glass. All specs are the same albeit for a few body changes. Same massive field of view....also a great pair for the money. These are about $500

While I haven't seen them in person, if I were to get a new pair, however, I'd pay an extra $100 and go with the new Trijicon 8x42's. If their glass is the same as their scopes, they are bound to be winners. These are $700
how did you take this pic?

I own a pair of the MINOX BL 10x44 HDs and I love them. I have used them on every hunt for a couple years now and I won't leave my house without them. Ultra clear, work great in low light, and are easy on the eyes.

Check out Pentax. Their optics are frequently rated the equal or better than the high end names like Zeiss and Swarovski. Some years back I bought an 8 x 40 Pentax PCF. I'm still amazed at the quality, the sharpness, the light they pass, and their ruggedness. And all for 120 or so. And it even has a focus lock with comes in real handy sometimes.

I also recently bought a 20-60x80 spotting scope that many reviewers say is equal to or better than Zeiss and Swarovski.

                  Seriously, check out Pentax.
