I recently got a BCM carry handle from their website because of all the positive reviews on it and when I removed it from its box, I noticed that the forward facing adjustment drum is slightly canted or crooked. I emailed BCM and was told ALL milspec carry handles have canted front drums. Is this true? Or is this just something to get me to not return it. Idk about you guys but spending over $100 on a carry handle and then getting something like this is out of the question in my book. Yes, I'm OCD. No, I won't settle unless this is indeed how "ALL" carry handles are made.

BCM Carry Handle Question

canted as left and right
or up and down
I use the cheap $25 ones and they all seem fine to me?sigpicComment

The front retention knob that you twist (by front I mean the one closest to the muzzle of the gun) looks like it was dropped on it or like someone bumped it and now its crooked. It still twists down and tightens the clamp, but its not flush with the clamp. I know its nit picking, but damn that thing was pretty expensive. I got it mostly for cosmetic looks so thats why it bothers me so much.Comment

If you're "OCD", as you say, I would stick to Noveske. They cater to that crowd.
And I would definitely stay away from BCM. They have been known to blacklist customers they deemed as being overly "OCD".
PS: A pic would help. How crooked are we talking?Last edited by bender152; 03-01-2016, 4:16 PM.Comment

Heard about that. I was going to return it, but they want a 15% restocking fee which is bull****. I'll just deal with it.Comment

Nope. At that price I expect flawlessness. I love my AR which is why I want the best for it. To each his own.Comment

Pics would help. If the front bolt is significantly crooked I bet BCM would exchange the handle.
The A2 sight assembly is usually canted to one side, that's normal.
$110 for a new, quality (function, not finish) elevation-adjustable rear sight for the AR is not exactly premium pricing.Comment
