Will I have ejection problem with this mount- see Pics

Make a long story short, I placed the heads of the three mounting screws on the right side of the mount as depicted in the orientation whenever I saw the mount (except in some customer images on Amazon), and due to the needed eye relief and attaching the mount to the rear of the dovetail, I am concerned with the possibility of ejection interference problems with this Marlin 60. Do you think that it will pose a problem, or is mount high enough not to be concerned?

I would imbed photos but have all sorts of upload issues with Photobucket in past months. I am thoroughly disgusted with Photobucket, when, in the past, I NEVER had a problem uploading and editing photos. Anyone else have a problem or is it my problem alone?

In any event, please take a look at the attached images and give me your opinions. I would rather not have to do this again-rifle is ready to be boresighted and zeroed.

Perhaps I can remove base screws and insert them from the other side? Prompt responses appreciated!

I think you'll be fine, ejects out and away, not up and toward the gun.

If that's where you want the scope, why don't you just take it out and try it? Then, any issues will be apparent.

In the meantime, the thread-locker has not solidified yet and I was able to screw them in from the other side.

Knee surgery 'deux' days ago.

Now I am all messed up. I thought that I could just reverse the screws and insert them the other way but it looks like I have to reverse the base and reset the rings, scope, eye relief (NOT, put tape near front ring for placement), cross-hair centering using levels, etc., all of that. AAArrrrgggghhhh.... it appears the metal spacer to adjust width only works on one side of the base.

Perhaps I should've left things as they are but I do note that base rear portion was way-back on that 3/8" dovetail and perhaps I can do a better job later and tomorrow.

NEED TO START OVER! BUT GOOD 'PRACTICE' for my next scope mounting on a AR. Now I can justify the expense of the newly acquired Wheeler Scope Mounting Combo Kit and I'm certainly using my FAT Wrench a bit here. Do note that instructions for FAT wrench state should click three times, not one time, at torque setting selected.

Probably valid point. But it still didn't look right. I don't know, range trips are few right now and at a distance, plus I have some time to kill due to my knee surgery recovery. Thanks for the comment, though, I should've followed it but just lacking patience right now. My bad... want to make it perfect for anticipated Appleseed, though I have been advised not to lap the rings with this particular fixed ring set with rubber inserts.

Update: I placed the mount so that the base screws are now on the left side of the receiver and also moved mount forward on the dovetail.

Also, lapped the rings (without removing the thin material linings) using the 'flex drive' attached to end of lapping bar and a drill. Lapped for about a minute total using the drill and improved alignment a little, but think that all it really accomplished was to smooth out the inner lining. So, the advice given was appropriate inasmuch as I could not really determine if lapping was removing anything. Best to leave well enough alone and not lap such rings that already have linings.

You need to move scope forward more unless you putting the buttstock on your chin.
