I'm currently looking for a new scope and I've come across the VX-3i at a much better price than the regular VX-3. It seems as though the VX-3i is the new updated one, so I'm just wondering what you guys think. Is the new one going to be of equal or better quality? Is it worth my time to try and find the standard VX-3 and just pay a little more. If this subject has already been covered let me know, I looked and was unable to find anything.

Leupold VX-3 vs VX-3i

Hi Ph1ree - I think you have it backwards unless where you saw the VX-3 for more, they are smoking crack.
Natchezz has VX-3's on closeout prices right now to where a 3x9 VX-3 is the same price as a VX-2 in some instances.
It all depends on what you want to do with the scope. I was thinking about one of those closeout price VX-3's for a hunting rifle..Originally posted by jmonte35Disagree. This will be for my new Tikka T3 in 30-06 with a DZN low mount. But that is exactly what I thought, that I had it backwards. I was just looking through Opticsplanet and that's what came up VX-3 being more expensive (I'm sure the crack is just for medicinal purposes[emoji2] ). Unfortunately I missed out on the Natchezz, they went OOS while I was in cart. So I hit up Gunbroker and found this, which made me hesitant. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=543668638, is this just that good of a deal or am I missing something. Thanks for your help!Hi Ph1ree - I think you have it backwards unless where you saw the VX-3 for more, they are smoking crack.

Sorry Ph1ree - I was AFK yesterday. Um, yeah there was a number of Natchez discounted models, unfortunately my work blocks natchezz so I can't pull them up. That GB deal seems to be pretty darn good as the normal price for a VX-2 3x9 is $299 and a VX-3 was quite a bit more until they got discounted. Before you buy check out that reticle to make sure it's what you like and if so, go for it..Originally posted by jmonte35Disagree. Been trying to teach lewdogg21 how to hunt. Yeah I'm thinking the Duplex sight will be just right for me. I plan on using it on a hunting rifle and I don't really plan on going past 300 yards. The one thing I haven't decided is if the CDS is worth it / needed for my application. Any experience with this? Does it make zeroing / general use easier? Careful with Natchez that you aren't buying a refurbished scope. They sell a lot of refurbs. Good deals to be had, but you don't get the warranty.Comment

If I could get a VX-3 at a better price I would go for it. Where I work we are a huge Leuopold dealer and I cannot tell the difference in glass between a VX-3 and a VX-3i.Comment

If you run the 3i scopes through the scope customizer, they result in prices much lower than MRSP.
A $1000 scope is $699 for example.
I cant figure out why.sigpicComment
