Buttler Creek Flip Up Scope Covers

I have a question regarding the sizing of the buttler creek flip up scope caps. I am going to be installing them on a Mueller APV.

Question is, do you buy a size smaller if the exact size you need isnt available? Or do you go the next size larger. Basically how stretchy are they?

Smaller. They stretch 1~2mm.
