Practical advantage/disadvantage for Holo vs Reflex sights?

I know that the technology behind a holographic sight is different than a red dot/reflex sight. But from a practical point of view, does a holo sight have any advantage over reflex sight? I heard people saying that a reflex sight has a slight tint to it and sometimes distorts the image, as the objective lens is magnified/tilted slightly. Is this true? Are there any more advantages/disadvantages to a holo sight vs reflex sight?

No I don't think so. I thought reflex was a short for reflective sight, which is a sight that uses a reflective lens to project a dot/reticle? Holographic sight does not use a reflective lens.

If it makes it more clear, I was asking for practical differences between a red dot sight (such as Aimpoint, Primary arms, Vortex, Bushnell TRS25) vs holographic sight (EOTech).

There is a difference. The main difference is the FOV between the eotech and "tube" red dots. Tube dots have come a long way so I am not sure that difference is still as noticeable. I do like Eotechs but they have had a warranty issue recently.

Can you elaborate on the FOV difference? I am not aware, unless you are talking about size of the FOV (tube red dots tending to be smaller)

In case anyone is wondering, I dug around the internet and apparently, it's confirmed that some RDS experience image distortion. Here, the poster is experiencing up to 4MOA image distortion with his Aimpoint T2.

Unclear if other Aimpoints or other brand RDS also experience the same issue. Judging by the fact that tilted lens design is shared among all RDS, I'm assuming it's apparent in all RDS to a certain extent..

Leupold DeltaPoint is pretty color neutral and doesn't have distortions. RMR has a blue/green tint and has pretty bad fisheye distortions. It all depends on the RDS. Note that I don't have a problem using the RMR since you won't notice it under the clock.

It basically boils down to the reticle and battery life you want.
