Thank you. Yesterday, I ordered a Ruger Precision Rifle in 308. I was actually looking at the Burris Veracity (5-25x50), but now considering the XTR. Thanks again.

Another vote for the Burris XTR II. For a 20" 308 I'd opt for either the 2-10X42 or 3-15X50 version with SCR reticle. I've run both versions for about a year now and have found them to be extremely robust and reliable with excellent glass and turrets.

Another option worth looking into would be the smaller Bushnell Elite Tactical 3-12X44 with G2DMR reticle. I've run one of these for several years on an SPR build, and like the XTR II scopes t has been dead reliable. The G2DMR reticle really makes it an easy and intuitive scope to use for mid to long distance shooting. You don't have to dial anything once you have the rifle zeroed, just hold on the appropriate hash mark of the reticle and shoot.

Another vote the for the Burris XTR II, there is definitely quality there. I have the 5-25x50 with the SCR reticle which makes adjusting for longer ranges super simple. First time out with it and shot everywhere from 200-1000yards with no trouble. Knobs are tactile, its Mil/Mil FFP and you can get it illuminated if you shoot at night like I do. Mine was $1105 from Liberty Optics.

What height are those rings? 1 inch or 1.5 inch? Thank you.

They're "medium" height.

Gives the scope just enough height to not touch the barrel (caps included).

Test fitted them on my MDT Tac 21 Savage rifle and the rings weren't tall enough.

Edit: Just checked my order and they're half-inch high. Remember, the scope is a 34mm tube.

Took her out today!

Zeroed at 50 yards and took it to 100.

First group is 3 shots in the center, however some adjustment was needed and put 4 on the bottom right.



Put 3 more on the top right.



Put 4 on the top left.



And the last 4 on the bottom left.



I really need to work on my breathing and positioning otherwise, I'm very happy with the shooting and the scope!

You'll like reloading. I read in the Sierra reloading manual that the 308 is a very easy caliber to reload.

I was in the process of buying a digital scale and powder dispenser, and .308 reloading dies when the RPR (.308) became available. So I jumped on the RPR right after receiving the in stock notification.

I don't mind using my old-school gear, but a digital scale and powder dispenser would be a nice upgrade.

I get to pick up my RPR this coming Tuesday.

Nice! My scope is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. A friend that works for Sirra Bullets recommended Forster dies. I figure I'll give them a try. So I bought the full length sizing die and ultra micrometer seater die. They came in a regular box instead of plastic one.

I have all RCBS dies except my 44 Magnum dies are Lyman. We'll see how the Forster dies workout.

Thank you. I waited 10 weeks for this scope. The demand seems to be high. I like that the scope is shipped from the factory with the optical center set at 20 MOA below center.
