Red dot sights

Looking to keep weight down on the new upper. I like the specs on the Bushnell but no one carries it locally so I can't check it out. My deal is that I use readers and without a scope with adjustments it's blurry, especially any fancy reticle. Anyone use a red dot without using readers? Same issue with my bow sights.
