With the Eotech refund program, I searched for a replacement. Long story short, I turned to an etched reticle prism scope to deal with slight astigmatism in my shooting eye, which had me seeing 2 small red dots and a squirrelly 65MOA ring in the center of the Eotech window...certainly clear enough to shoot CQB, but a little irritating for more precise work.
I think I'm going to like this Spitfire 1x
-- It's clear glass and the reticle is very fast to acquire....with or without the illumination. No blurriness with my slight shooting-eye astigmatism.
-- Reticle is two rings, then the center dot is very small....says 3 MOA but looks crisp and even smaller....not much more than the 1MOA Eotech. Illumination (red or green) works well, too, very bright at highest settings.
-- Eye relief is good....it sits right where my Eotech XPS2 sat on the rail
-- I should get back $465 for my XPS2, this Spitfire cost $180.
Can't wait to go zero....here's some pics in the meantime:
You can't even see the center dot in this photo (camera farther than your eye would be from the scope)
